Mayor Van Zuiden called the adjourned meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll. On roll call vote, Mayor Howard Van Zuiden, Aldermen Charles Dykstra, Gene Field, Merle Sterenberg, Warren Juist, Wes Letcher, Bill Loerop and Ron Roels answered present. Alderman Charlie Letcher was absent. Also present were Randy Balk – City Administrator, Dan Clark – Public Works Director, and Bill Shirk – City Attorney.
Ald. Field moved, seconded by Ald. Sterenberg to enter executive session to discuss the purchase or lease of property and personnel. Roll call vote/all yes/motion carried.
The council entered executive session at 8:02AM. Executive session minutes are recorded elsewhere.
The council returned to regular session at 9:00AM.
Ald. Roels moved, seconded by Ald. Sterenberg to terminate the articles of agreement between the City of Fulton and the Fulton Historical Society, with the City assuming the responsibility for the operation and management of the Martin House to be effective 30 days from Monday, May 21, 2007. Roll call vote/Ald. Sterenberg, Roels, W. Letcher, Field voted yes/Ald. Juist voted no/Ald. Dykstra abstained/motion carried. (Ald. Loerop left at 8:55AM due to an emergency) Ald. Dykstra will take the notice of termination to the Monday night Fulton Historical Society meeting.
Ald. Roels moved, seconded by Ald. Sterenberg to end the City of Fulton’s responsibility with regard to health insurance for Ron Van Zuiden effective August 1, 2007. Roll call vote/Ald. Dykstra, Field, Sterenberg, W. Letcher, Roels voted yes/Ald. Juist abstained/motion carried.
Ald. Roels moved, seconded by Ald. Field to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 9:07AM.
