Fulton (Martin House) Museum

The Fulton Historical Society is located in this Civil War era home donated to the City by Leonard and Maxine Martin.   

The Society is responsible for the operation of the home as a repository of information and materials relevant to the history of the City of Fulton and its inhabitants. 

In addition, the Society wishes to preserve the heritage of the community and provide educational opportunities for the purpose of increasing and enriching public knowledge.  (Click on any image for a larger view and description.)

  1. January 15, 2012 @ 2pm - "Showboats" presented by Neal Luker, Board President of CAST, local theatre group for the Clinton Showboat. 
  2. February 19, 2012 @ 2pm - "Sawmills in Fulton's History" presented by Barbara Mask, FHS President.  Presentation will also include information on the ice harvesting business. 
  3. March 18, 2012 @ 2pm - "Fulton Riverfront - Commercial Activities" presented by Dave Vogel, local retired businessman.
  4. April 22, 2012 @ 2pm - "Literature on the Mississippi River" by Don Wooten, WVIK radio personality and former State Senator. 
  5. May 4 & 5, 2012 - Genealogy Forum during the annual Fulton Dutch Days Festival

The mission of the Fulton, Illinois Historical Society is to collect information and materials relevant to the history of the City of Fulton and its attract-martin-piano.jpghabitants, preserve its heritage, and provide educational opportunities for the purpose of increasing and enriching the public knowledge.   Adopted November 19, 1998.

Computer & Resource Room for genealogy and historical information. Printing available for a small fee - $0.20 a copy.

Rental of Facilities:

The home can be used for private parties, social functions and organizational meetings for a small fee.
