Windmill Cultural Center Donation

Neal Luker, Friends of the Windmill Co-Chair, accepted a one thousand dollar check from Bob Dykema on behalf of him and his wife Arlene for the Windmill Cultural Center. The Dykemas were the first individuals to contribute to the project.  Bob stated, "Because of all the work the Millers and Friends of the Windmill do to make the Windmill and the Windmill Cultural Center such a success in our community, we are happy to support the efforts of the volunteers. The donation of the windmills is a wonderful gift to our community and this new building will be a great addition."

The Windmill Cultural Center is being funded through grants, hotel/motel tax revenue, contributions from the Millers and Friends of the Windmill, organizations, and private and business donations.

Friends of the Windmill have been soliciting donations and pledges for the development of the Windmill Cultural Center.  While the exterior of the building is finished, costs to finish the project remain, such as interior furnishings, cabinetry, and media equipment. Friends of the Windmill is recognized by the IRS as a 501 c 3 charitable organization. This designation allows contributions to the Friends of the Windmill to be tax deductible for the donor.  Neal and Jane Luker are chairs of the fundraising project for Friends of the Windmill.
