2012 Annual Theme: River Connections |
The 2012 Fulton Tourism theme is “River Connections.” The City Tourism Committee chose the theme because the Mississippi River is one Fulton's greatest assets.
The theme provides an excellent opportunity to develop programs and activities for Fulton’s attractions and annual events. Several groups have already begun to tie their 2012 programming to the river theme. Field trips and youth groups visiting the windmill area will enjoy learning about water mills and Fulton’s flood history. Monthly programs at the Windmill Cultural Center and Fulton (Martin House) Museum will highlight river wildlife, steamboats, river history, attractions along the river, other important rivers, flooding and recreational opportunities. The Fulton Chamber and Dutch Days Committee are discussing ways to incorporate the river theme into the Dutch Days Festival and Fall Festival events. The City Tourism Committee encourages all organizations and event organizers to incorporate the theme in their annual planning.
