Ribbon Cutting At Fulton's Wagner Pharmacy
The Fulton Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Wednesday for the much anticipated, new addition to Fulton's downtown, Wagner Pharmacy. Mayor Russell welcomed the new business on behalf of the City of Fulton, as did Chamber President Greg Naftzger.

TCEDA Provides Key Communication Link on Thomson Prison Project
Tri-County Economic Development Alliance TCEDA representatives, Fulton Mayor Larry Russell, Jo Carroll Energy Sr. VP Russ Simpson and Carroll County Board Chair Rod Fritz stand by as the media are briefed following a January 6 session with Senator Durbin on the Thomson Prison project. TCEDA will provide a key link between federal officials and area communities.

Council Votes to Prepare Ordinance For Utility Tax
In a tie vote broken by Mayor Russell, the Fulton City Council voted Monday night to have Attorney Bill Shirk prepare an ordinance for a 2.5% tax on electric service and a 2.5% tax on gas service.

The Complex Achieve Major Mile Stone - The Purchase of Wildwood Farms Building
The board of The Complex is pleased to announce that they have signed the agreement to purchase the building that formerly housed Wildwood Farms, located at 1011 22nd Street. In celebration and to encourage community support and involvement, the board of directors of The Complex is inviting all area residents to join them at Manny's Too on next Monday, January 11th from 5-7 pm. There will be a general presentation at 6 pm. All those who are willing to donate, volunteer, or who just want to learn more about The Complex are encouraged to attend. Pizza will be provided as well.

Community State Bank's Toys For Tots
Community State Bank in Fulton collected a total of 223 toys and $426.00 in monetary gifts for Toys for Tots Campaign. The total amount of toys collected bank wide including Community State Bank's Morrison, Rock Falls, Sterling and Dixon branches was 394 toys with $927.00 total in monetary gifts. A spoke person for Whiteside County Toys for Tots reported that 3200 toys were distributed to 600 families this Christmas.
