Cattail Park is a great place to take the little ones fishing, to go paddle boarding, or canoeing, or kayaking, or to just "hang out" and watch the birds and wildlife activity. Located just north of Fulton along Cattail Road, (as you may be headed toward the Fulton Country Club), Cattail Park is just around the curve as you go north, on the left side of the road. Cattail Park features a pedestal charcoal grill, a small playground area, a picnic shelter with picnic tables and also the Cattail Park Pavilion which is available to rent. The Pavilion has a kitchen area complete with stove, oven, refrigerator and microwave. There are modern restroom facilities inside the Pavilion, and the main activity area for your event, comes equipped with 8, 8' tables and folding chairs. Cattail Park also has a nice paved parking area located near the Pavilion. The City of Fulton requests no parking on the grass, as the grassy areas are generally too soft for vehicles.
Nature at it's best.......even with the snow covered ground our Cattail Park is an adventure! I love to take my lunch or when I just need some quiet time, I park my car and take in the view. The Cattail Park building is available for renting $40 for residents and $75 for non- residents. There is a $40 deposit that will be returned to you upon the approval of Public Works inspection of building after use. The building seats 60. Our family has used this building for graduations, family reunions, baby and wedding showers, birthday parties etc. There is a small kitchen, fridge and stove for your convenience. Fulton a great place to live! To check on available dates for renting Cattail Park, call City Hall at 815-589-2616.
Cattail Park is open to the public, during daylight hours, and, as in all Fulton city parks, alcoholic beverages are not permitted at any time. (There are no restrooms at the Cattail Park except those inside the Pavilion, which are not generally available except during private rental events.)
