  This cycling, walking and running trail flows continuously from Rock Island, Illinois, to Savanna, Illinois.  In addition to the main route, which runs parallel to the Mississippi River, there is an additional loop leading to the Fulton Windmill on the banks of th eMississippi River.  The Great River Trail features miles and miles of paved surface.

Bike racks can be found in Fulton's historic downtown business district for visiting, shopping and dining. If you need air for your bicycle tires, it is available at Shell Gas Station, Fulton Oil Mart, and Wendall Repair. Restaurants can be found near the Fulton Great River Trail paths for either a quick snack or a full break, to enjoy a meal. You will also find several banking locations near the trail which offer ATM access.

The Great River Trail is fun year round.  During the winter, it is also a great place for cross country skiing and snow shoeing.  Sections of this route are even marked with special signs for snowmobiling.  The area along Fulton's Mississippi River levee is wonderful for a scenic view and sledding, as well.
