During the communication from visitors Dave & Paula Ensinger were present regarding matters on the agenda. Tony Miller (lawyer) was present regarding matters to be discussed by the council.
Item for consideration is Blessing of the Bikes to request street closures for 4th Street between 9th and 12th Avenues. They are also requesting to allow possession and consumption of alcohol with event perimeter in accordance with Ordinance 1524. Ald. Mask asked if this is in compliance with the city’s insurance. Admin Cannon said, “Yes the insurance covers the city.” Chief Rhoades asked for the council to amend #4 on the list to include a barrier (at least 3 foot high) per ordinance. Dave Ensinger stated Larry Leonard has 30 people lined up to act as security for the event. Paula Ensinger stated people at the event are usually doctors, lawyers, all around good people not hoodlums. With no further questions or concerns Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. VanKampen to approve street closures and event rules for Blessing of the Bikes. Roll call vote (7yes, 1 absent).
Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. Letcher to enter closed session to discuss collective bargaining, personnel and setting the price for sale of city-owned property. Roll call vote (7 yes, 1 absent). The council entered closed session at 6:15 PM.
Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. Nederhoff to exit closed session. Roll call vote (7yes, 1 absent). The council exited closed session at 7:40 PM.
With no further business, Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. Nederhoff to adjourn. With voice agreement the meeting adjourned at 7:52 PM.
