Special Called Council Meeting
August 14, 2017

 

Mayor Ottens called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM and directed the City Clerk to call roll. On roll call Ald. Eugene Field, Dan Nederhoff, Margaret Crosthwaite, Sue VanKampen, Randy Boonstra, Paul Banker, Keith King. Ald. Barb Mask was absent. Also in attendance Dan Clark (Pubic Works).

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Visitors at the meeting included Chuck Dykstra, Nick Moffit and Jerry Lindsey.

Item for consideration resolution for Midwest Pets for Life Run/Walk. The City of Fulton must allow a temporary closure of Route 136 from Illinois to Iowa in order for the Illinois Department of Transportation to use a permit for the closure. With no questions Ald. Boonstra motioned, seconded by Ald. Crosthwaite to approve the resolution for Midwest Pets for Life Run/Walk. Roll call vote (7 yes, 1 absent).

New Business

Director Clark updated the council on the progress completed at Heritage Canyon. The Public Works Department is working on cleaning up the Canyon with a skid loader and backhoe. The layers of mud are slimy which makes it hard to clean up. They removing the mud layer by layer as it dries out.

Ald. King motioned, seconded by Ald. Boonstra to enter closed session to discuss property. Roll call vote (7 yes, 1 absent). The council entered closed session at 5:38 PM.

Ald. Boonstra motioned, seconded by Ald. Kind to exit closed session. Roll call vote (7 yes, 1 absent). The council exited closed session at 6:00 PM.

Ald. Boonstra motioned, seconded by Ald. King to adjourn. With voice agreement the meeting adjourned at 6:01 PM.
