City of Fulton Council Minutes

October 12, 2021

(Continuation meeting from September 27, 2021)



Mayor Wendy Ottens called the continuation meeting to order, October 12, 2021, and directed the Deputy Clerk to call the roll. Ald. King, Banker, Mask, VanKampen, Nederhoff, Hunt, Brondyke and VanZuiden were all present. Also in attendance was City Administrator Clark, Zoning Officer Sikkema, Deputy Clerk Garibay, and John Rolf from the Clinton Herald. Visitors were also present.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Continuation of Business from September 27, 2021

Approve an Ordinance Authorizing Sale of Municipally owned Real Estate. Ald. Hunt motioned, seconded by Ald. VanZuiden. Discussion to follow. Ald. Nederhoff states that the $3,001.00 bid was way to low for the property, and says he is not in favor of selling the parking lot that is part of the bid. He states that it should be public parking owned by the city. Ald. Mask agrees. All other Aldermen are in favor of the sale. With no further discussion. Roll call vote, 7 yes (including Mayor Ottens’ vote), 2 no. (Ald. Nederhoff and Ald. Mask) Motion approved.

Approve an Ordinance to Amend the Date and Time of Regular Meetings of the City of Council to, two meetings per month. Ald. Nederhoff motioned, seconded by Ald. Brondyke. Discussion to follow. Ald. Mask states that it is all about the public service to the public. With two meetings there can be thorough discussions without making hasty decisions. Ald. Nederhoff agrees. With no further discussion, Roll call vote, 2 yes, 6 no. Motion failed.

Motion to adjourn meeting. Ald. King motioned, seconded by Ald. Hunt. All in Favor, meeting adjourned
