Special Council Meeting

March 12, 2020

 

 

Mayor Ottens called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM and directed the City Clerk to call the roll. On roll call Ald. Mike VanZuiden, Gene Field, Margaret Crosthwaite, Dan Nederhoff, Sue VanKampen, Barb Mask, Paul Banker and Keith King. Also in attendance Randy Boonstra and Dale Sikkema.

Visitors at the meeting included; Jeff Soenksen.

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Approve ordinance for sale of Real Estate to Towne & Country Clinton, LLC. Ald. VanKampen asked how they will get water/sewer; will it require them to build within a year. Dan Dolan is aware he will have to put in well and septic and no problem looking to build as soon as possible. Ald. Mask asked why there is a discount on the purchase. Discount for putting in well and septic and potential to build other items on land. Ald. King motioned, seconded by Ald. VanZuiden to approve the sale of real estate to Towne & Country Clinton, LLC. Roll call vote (9 yes).

Ald. Mask made the council aware the Dutch Days Committee is meeting to decide on whether or not to cancel this year. Will inform council once decision has been made.

Administrator Boonstra received information the council is to still meet as normal, must have a quorum 5/8 and at least 3/8 can call in and vote. Cannot tell citizens they can’t come to the meeting. With let you know if there are any changes.

With no further discussion Ald. Field motioned, seconded by Ald. VanKampen to adjourn with voice agreement the council adjourned at 5:38 PM.
