Honeybee Management, Session VI

Its time for another beekeeping session at the Andresen Nature Center - on Sunday, November 3, at 1:00 PM.
Led by Mike Kramer, one of our local beekeepers and the consultant for the Nature Center’s observation beehive, the events are always entertaining as well as educational.

Topics for this session will include:
1) Mike’s Conundrum
2) Late Fall Feeding / Treatments
3) Queen Checks
4) Winterizing Hives, Part 2
5) Planning for Spring
6) Science Topic: Importance of Drone DNA for Mite Resistant Hives
7) ANC (Andresen Nature Center) Year in Review, Observation Hive Issues / Analyses

8) Open Discussions / Q & A Session

As in the previous sessions, these series of meetings are tailored towards 1) newer beekeepers with perhaps a few years’ experience, 2) those who may be struggling to keep their colonies alive year round, along with 3) individuals interested in starting their own apiaries. However, beekeepers with extensive experience are also welcome to attend to share their experiences, observations, and opinions.

This is a free event.

The Andresen Nature Center is located at 409 North 4th Street in Fulton, adjacent to Heritage Canyon.
