City of Fulton Special Council Meeting Minutes

March 4, 2020

 

 

Mayor Ottens called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM and directed the City Clerk to call the roll. On roll call Ald. Mike VanZuiden, Gene Field, Margaret Crosthwaite, Dan Nederhoff, Sue VanKampen, Barb Mask, Paul Banker and Keith King. Also in attendance Randy Boonstra and Dave Bartels.

Pledge of allegiance was recited.

Visitors at the meeting included; John Ferrell and Dan Dolan.

Review budget proposal; handout showing projected deficit and cuts to make the budget balance. Please review and discuss at the next council meeting.

Will also discuss liquor license increase at next meeting; suggest a small 5-10% increase instead of 50% increase at one time.

Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. Crosthwaite to enter closed session to discuss the sale of real estate. Roll call vote (8 yes).

The council entered closed session at 5:34 Ald. King motioned, seconded by Ald. Mask to exit closed session. Roll call vote (8 yes).

The council exited closed session at 6:01 PM. Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. VanKampen to adjourn to the Committee of the Whole. Roll call vote (8 yes).

The council entered the committee of the whole at 6:02 PM.

With no further discussion Ald. King motioned, seconded by Ald. Field to adjourn.

With voice agreement the council adjourned at 6:06 PM.

March 4, 2020

Items for discussion

• Purchase agreement from Towne & Country Clinton LLC to purchase approximately 18.5 acres in the Fulton Industrial Park. Put on next agenda for approval.

• Personalize Chromebooks and cellphones for council members, John Ferrell present to assist council with setting up Chromebooks.

Ald. VanZuiden motioned, seconded by Ald. King to return back to the regular council meeting. Roll call vote (8 yes).

The council returned to the regular meeting at 6:06 PM.
